San Antonio Vacation-Thursday

We left at nap time on Thursday to head to San Antonio. We stopped in Hillsboro at the Nike outlet because Mckenzee outgrew ALL of her shoes overnight. Chris had taken her to look for shoes earlier that morning, but didn't find any he liked....he's very picky. Mckenzee had woken up too soon from her nap when we made a stop earlier and when we got there she told us she didn't want to get out of the car, but we needed her little foot to try on shoes and so we took her in and a giant fit happened that left her sprawled out on the nasty floor of the store and her mommy pretending not to know her. Chris and I forced a pair of shoes on her to get the right size and then he took her to the car and I paid. She was fine once she got to get back in her car seat and had some sun chips. We made one more stop at the Payless Outlet where I found those stinkin' brown church shoes that I have gone to 4 paylesses looking for, thank you Connie and Stephanie for hauling me to two of them. The workers were even so nice to let me take them out to the car to try them on Kenzee and then I bought those suckers...the very last pair in her size.

We stopped in Austin and shopped at the UT store and got Mckenzee and Riley some things and some Christmas ornaments. (We collect ornaments from places we have been) The children's floor in there is so super cute, but they sucker you with high prices on those super cute things. We got Mckenzee a shirt that ended up not fitting and we got to trade it at the UT store in San Antonio, which we didn't even know was there, and Chris picked her out a cheerleading dress that was 50% off! It is so cute. I'll have to get her in it and get her picture up. After we finished our shopping we walked around campus some and took pictures and looked at the capitol buildign from a distance.

Chris loves visiting Austin and I like being there with him.

We continued on to San Antonio and got to our hotel around 8. We were very pleased with our room. Then, we walked across the street and had dinner at a Mexican food place called Aldaco's. We got free queso for showing our hotel key card and a free dessert...tres leches cake... because the hotel lady gave us a free dessert coupon. It was SO tasty and y'all know I'm not a dessert girl.

When we went back to the hotel we let Mckenzee pick a movie and we picked one too. This became a nightly routine. We would each pick out a movie to rent for free from the hotel dvd library. Mckenzee like that a lot. She was always so cute to study the cases to decide which one she wanted and she knew she could only get one and she would make her choice and put the others back.

Hope you do better with your vacation posts than I did! There was a reason you couldn't find those shoes! God knew her little feet were busy growing.

Cute pictures and can't wait to see more!

So been there with the screaming, fit throwing child trying on shoes ... Ridgmar Mall, Children's Place, May 2006 trying to find those water shoes to wear on our vacation to Florida. I have him in a wrestling hold while I attempt to put the shoe on him. He was a very strong 3 year old. Got the shoes, left the store and then forgot to buckle him into the stroller in all the chaos and he fell out. He was perfectly fine, but it just added another layer to the fit that was at the point of no return. I believe he fell asleep in the car between screams.

Anyway, can't wait to hear more about the trip. Totally love the whale that is as big as Mckenzee!
