Beautiful Butterflies

Today we visited the Butterfly Exhibit at The Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. My parents went yesterday and liked it so much they bought us tickets and said we had to go today. We got to see some beautiful plants and butterflies and then enjoyed walking around the gardens. Mckenzee was not in the mood for posing today and you can tell just how she felt about picture taking in her last picture posted here.

Trouble

So I got a phone call today. It was a business call and I was trying to be professional. I think it might be a good idea to just not accept calls when you have a toddler, or perhaps children at all for that matter. While I was on the phone Mckenzee had a good time with Aunt Sara's lotion. When I hung up I told her it was time to put the lotion away and she ran from me and hid under the desk. She even pretended not to see me when I got down there next to her. Little Miss Mckenzee is much like her Momma in that she likes to have her way and when she doesn't get it she throws a fit. I hate to admit that about myself, but most of you already know that's pretty much true so there you have it. I tried to get her to put the lotion away on her own (sometimes this works). Today it did not and a full blown fit ensued when I took the lotion away. She made sure to get one more glob after I took the pictures to put on the other side of her face. During this fit the dog was trying to lick her because she loves lotion too and Kenzee was trying to hit the dog and I was trying to spread out all this lotion. Now this was Arbonne lotion. Those of you who have used Arbonne lotion know that a little goes a LONG way. She was pretty thick in the stuff, but I finally got her rubbed in pretty good. She was able to calm down after I fixed her a snack.

What the Heck?

This is one of my mom's chickens. It caught this mouse today and was running around with it with all of the other chickens running excitedly behind it. Pretty weird.

Easter Sunday

I wanted to just take a moment before posting all the rest of the pictures of my beautiful egg hunter and reflect on the true meaning of Easter. I was looking for a particular verse to add here. I didn't find the one I was wanting, but came across this one that really spoke to me.

38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from His love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels can't, and the demons can't. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can't keep God's love away. 39 Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

How amazing that Jesus loves us so much that he was willing to die for us. As we celebrate His resurrection on Easter Sunday I think the egg is a perfect symbol for new life. I am thankful for the new life He has given to me. I am thankful for the beautiful daughter he has entrusted to my care. I am thankful for a wonderful husband. I am thankful for all the things He has blessed us with and continues to do so daily.

Now for the festivities:

So excited to get fixed up for Easter

First Haircut

BEFORE

AFTER

This will probably need some touching up, but this is what we could get done on the little wiggle worm with her nervous mommy. She has needed her hair evened up for awhile now, but I haven't been brave enough. I am surprised it is this long already. She is just 18 months. She was born with lots of hair and she kept it all. I think it will look cuter now and it will look better curled too. Daddy even got a few snips in of his own. I'm looking forward to fixing her up for Easter.

I Give Up

Mckenzee wants to wear her red bows EVERYday...BOTH of them. We have been having bow wars for awhile now. I guess I am going to start buying her red clothes and making pigtails everyday. Her little mouth looks good with red so I guess she must know what she's talking about.

March Madness

I can't help it. I LOVE March Madness. It is such an exciting time of year at the Roberts house. This is the only time I really get fired up about college basketball.

The games start today. I put in my bracket last night. I am playing for $300 in Chris' work pool. I don't know how good of a chance I have. I like to pick the upsets and possible Cinderellas.

I am probably seriously boring some of you right now so I'll keep this post short.

Here are my Final Four:
UNC
Memphis
Georgetown
Xavier

I picked Xavier to win it all. We'll see.

MORE AMAZING SNOW IN TEXAS!

My Little Snow Bunny

Thanks to Connie for this ADORABLE outfit that she gave me just today! Can we say perfect timing?!

Macy doesn't like the cold.

Our front bushes

Our house before I pulled the car in and messed up the perfectly white driveway. I didn't get the car in very far...it started slip slidin' all around and I had to leave it cock-eyed at the bottom.

Our street.

Our entrance...just thought this looked pretty.

Almost 4 inches in our yard. Wow!!!
