You Get What YOU GAVE Your Momma

On the days when Mckenzee is completely wild and bratty. When she is so very particular about her socks and shoes. When she wants her food arranged just right. When she wants to not be touched or looked at. When she insists on stacking the blocks just so. When she doesn't want anyone to bother her blanket. When she wants to put her necklaces on all by herself. When she screams at the doctor as soon as she walks in the door. When she is impatient. When she loves to run and scream. When she only wants her Momma. I need look no further than myself to answer why.

Getting Caught

Old Story

So, I haven't been able to think of anything I wanted to blog about lately so I decided to tell and old story of a very hard night and morning we had with Mckenzee.
I think she was about 5 months old and having her first ear infection. We didn't know at the time that she had an ear infection, we just knew she wouldn't sleep. So Chris and I had been up most of the night with her taking turns holding her on the couch. I was still nursing so I had had more awake time than sleep time and less sleep time than Chris. When the going gets tough I am all for offering the boob.
Anyway, so a lot of the time in the night she would just cry and cry and cry and we couldn't do anything for her. It was those times when we would switch because we were so worn out from trying everything we knew and hearing the crying.
It was early that morning around 5 or 6 am and she was asleep and Chris had come to check on us in the living room. He successfully transferred her to her bed and we went to bed ourselves.
When Chris got in the bed he said, "Dang it! Macy peed in the bed." I said, "Are you sure?" (she hasn't peed in the bed since she was a little puppy) He said, "Nope, its throw up." Yuck. So, this throw up is on the very edge of the bed on his side so we decide to clean it up temporarily with a baby wipe and deal with the sheet changing later. We so bad just want to sleep.
We go into Mckenzee's room to get some wipes and I kick over a toy.
She wakes up.
Pisser.
We take her to our bed and I lay her down next to me to try and get her back to sleep. Macy is still in the bed too and she is up by Chris in between us. Oh, no...she is going to throw up again. Chris reaches out to catch it and he gets ALMOST all of it, EXCEPT for the part that gets in Kenzee's hair. A lot of things I could let be at this point in my sleeplessness, but not dog vomit on my baby, so I take her into the bathroom and hold her over the sink and wash it out.
In the meantime, she has pooped her diaper. I take her into her room to change her while Chris is cleaning up the dog throw up and taking Macy outside. When I take her diaper off she pees all over herself.
You know how the waterproof changing pad is waterproof? Well, that just means the pee goes all the way up their back. I am going to cry now. I just wipe her off and carry her to the bathtub and start the water. Chris comes in and asks what has happened and all I can tell him is that I think I am going to go crazy.
He takes over and I go and lay down on the couch. He called in to work and let me sleep for and hour and a half.
Wonderful husband. Hell of a morning.
