My Baby is 2!

Mckenzee was born August 29, 2006 at 2:00pm. She was delivered via c-section and weighed 6 lbs. 5 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long (sadly her head was extended so we don't know her actual length). A short version of her birth story: My water broke by high leak at 10:00am on Monday August 28th. Contractions started at 3:00pm. After going to the hospital for the third time that day I convinced them that I was yes, for sure, actually, in labor and I got to stay. After 13 hours of contractions I got an epidural. I had wanted to go without, but couldn't take it any longer. After 9 more hours the doctor decided she was stuck and wasn't coming out and they took me back for a c-section. It was long and they finally got her out...I'll spare you the details. She was just fine, aside from her sad looking head, and we had our baby girl. She was screaming and they wrapped her up and gave her to Chris and he brought her over to me. I sang to her and she calmed down. That was the sweetest thing because I knew she knew me. Now, here we are 2 years later with our big girl and she is so much fun and so dramatic and so beautiful. Below are pictures of her birthday day with just Momma and Daddy (who stayed home all day).

Good Morning Birthday Girl!

She got to start the day with one of her favorite activities...playing naked in the water hose!

Then, when it was time to get dressed for lunch at her favorite place she showed off her fit throwing ability for 30 minutes! She stretched out the first shirt we put on her so much she couldn't wear it. Finally, she calmed down and we took her in her shorts only and were able to get her shirt and shoes on when we got there.
She had a great time eating her favorite food..."chichen" at Chick-fil-a.
After refusing a nap she had a bath.
..and had her dinner served tub-side
Then, it was time for her fancy hair do and she got to help with the mousse.
...which she decided should go on her legs.

Here she is ready to go and waiting for Daddy to finish loading the car to take her to her party.

BRADY vs. ROMO

Now, my little sister seems to have the hots for Tony Romo...based on this quote...

Sara said...
I hope you have Tony Romo on your team. You're sure to win on good looks alone if you do.

Well sister, I'm gonna cut you some slack here and just figure you don't know who Tom Brady is...the guy I paid $10 million for. I posted some pics below. One of each quarterback in and out of their element. See for yourself who'll get me points on looks.

TOM BRADY

TONY ROMO

In trying to be fair to Mr. Romo I have added another picture of him in a suit. Lexi said he couldn't pull off the unbuttoned pink and Sara said it was a bad pic. So here you go ladies. I know this picture is dated, but it was what I could find. He doesn't do modeling like Brady.

Fantasy Football

It's that time again. Yesterday was Draft Day. I enjoyed it. It is very very long and I get a little tired of sitting, but it's fun. I feel pretty good about my team except for my running backs. I don't have any stars there...not even players that don't shine, but are consistent. Hopefully, one of them will prove me wrong. Everywhere else I am pretty happy. I got my Tom Brady back. I had to pay $10 million for him, but I thought that was a decent price. I am looking forward to the season starting. I hope I have a better year than last year. Here are a few pictures from the draft. My dad took pictures, but not everyone was at their tables at that time so I decided to include some last year pictures of those that weren't pictured this year.

Is This August?

When I was telling Chris good-bye for work this morning he opened the door and I felt something strange. A cool breeze. I was a bit dumbfounded. I looked at him and said is it cool? He said it felt like late morning in Colorado.

Mckenzee and I went to the back door to look at out and when I opened it she scrunched her little arms to her sides and shook them and said cold. Well, I know it wasn't cold, but it sure was a different feeling than she had felt when we opened the door for a while now.

Then, I did something I'd never thought I'd get to do in the middle of August. I turned off my air-conditioner and left the back door open and went and opened a window. Mckenzee and I looked out and then it started to rain and we listened to the rain.

I am going to make chicken noodle soup today. Mckenzee has been sick this week. Yucky sick. Hard on a pregnant Momma. I had to call in Daddy from work once. Viruses are not 24 hours with her. She had it for 3 days. I am hoping she is past it today. She played last night and ate some crackers. It's a perfect day for soup. I wish it would stay like this all day and rain and rain and rain. Thunder would be even better.

Little Girl in a Pot

COLORADO: Cripple Creek

This was our final stop on our trip. We had rented a home from vrbo.com with my parents that was very close to Cripple Creek, but actually in Florissant. It was so awesome, better than it's pictures! It was a 3 story home on 70 acres. It had a wrap-around deck with a hot tub and a great view. There were three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Every room had king-sized tempur-pedic beds. There were two living rooms, a huge kitchen and two giant tvs with satellite and a computer with high speed internet. It was very clean, the furniture looked brand new, and they let us bring our dog....all for $175 a night that we split with my parents! We couldn't have booked a hotel room in town for that.

We had a lot of fun at this place. We went into Cripple Creek for a day. We are gambling baptists. ha! Just on vacation. All the casinos in Colorado are smoke free which totally rocked! Mckenzee took a two hour nap on a couch in the lobby of one casino and we just took turns sitting by her. You'll also notice that on vacation we break our sugar rule and let her have suckers. It helps when we are shopping.

The pictures below also show some really cool sand sculptures.
