COLORADO: Lake City

Okay, I am hoping to get through this vacation blogging...more for my own record. It's been a little over a month now since we have been back. I want to get it done.

After we left Creede we drove up to Lake City. My PawPaw used to spend his summers there and we would go and visit. It was always lots of fun: hiking, fishing, four-wheeling, feeding animals, and shopping in town. This time we were just stopping through. We did some shopping and let Mckenzee play on the playground. We chose a sky blue topaz stone for her at a jewelry shop to be set into a necklace. Chris bought me a ring there a few years ago. We found a rug for her new room and got some Christmas ornaments and t-shirts. We also had some giant milkshakes before we left. The drive in was so pretty, but very steep. Our brakes were smoking when we got there and when we left we had to pay big bucks for gas so, we got just enough to get us to the next town.

Levi sooo wanted to take a picture of gas prices in LA. He also wanted to take a picture of a 75 mile per hour speed limit sign in West Texas. Of course, he went 85 but that meant he was only 10 over instead of 15!
