Sleepyheads
For so long when Mckenzee would wake up early we would try and put her in our bed to get her back to sleep and she would throw the biggest fit. She did not want to be in our bed. She wanted us to go lay on the couch with her. Well, she has been waking up at 6 am a lot of mornings lately and we have been forcing her in our bed and now she is okay with it. I kind of like having some snuggle time with her in the mornings because she isn't a real snuggly girl most of the time when she is awake. Here are some pictures of two sleepy girls in our bed this morning.

Home Makeover Series: Update
The last three weekends have been so busy with working on our house. Chris has worked his tail off and everything is looking great. I have pictures to post soon. We (mostly Chris) have painted the hall and entryway, painted our bathroom, decorated our bathroom, painted Mckenzee's new room, installed a storm door and water filter (with my dad's help), and busted up most of the entry tile. Every project has taken more than twice as long as we thought it would, but we are getting there. I will post pictures soon. Still to go, finishing getting rid of the tile, installing hardwood floors, finishing crown molding, setting up Mckenzee's room, and choosing fabric for and making curtains in our master bathroom. We are hoping to get all of that completed by June 12th! I can't wait.

Boy Pajamas
I let Mckenzee pick out some new pajamas at the store today and these are the ones she chose. She is normally super girly so this is funny. I like her in blue...it matches her eyes.
Home Makeover Series: New Carpet
Chris and I have lived in our house for five years. You would think that would be long enough to have it just how we like it, but it is far from being done, BUT we now have a completion plan, that I am very excited about, which includes the three year project of crown moulding in our living room!
We started these projects at the end of April beginning with new carpet in our bedrooms. I took before pictures, but I took them free of furniture and carpet and I am thinking that maybe I should have taken some with the carpet so you could see the difference. Anyway, we like the carpet very much and although it isn't the carpet we would choose for long term livage (like super expensive wool carpet) it will do for now. We are planning to be in our house for probably three more years.
It was quite a big deal to get new carpet because you basically have to move out. We were dreading that, but it turned out moving out wasn't too bad...moving back IN was! We combined our room that was our office with our closet which meant we had to combine TWO closets and one bedroom into one closet...hope that made sense. That was hard, but it forced us to get rid of lots of crap and I actually really love the computer being in our closet. We have a large closet so it isn't too crampy just cozy.
We are going to make the new bedroom Kenzee's big girl room. It will be her 2 year old present from us and we have been planning it for a long time. We will just save the nursery for a new baby someday. I absolutely LOVE Mckenzee's nursery and could never change it so we are moving her next door.
So, I am getting ahead of myself. This post is about new carpet and combining office and closet so I will post pictures of that.

The Bachelor: London Calling

I am a HUGE Bachelor fan and tonight is the season finale. I decided to make my prediction on the blog. I like both girls although neither of them were my very favorite girl. My favorite was Noelle. Tonight he will take each of them home to meet his parents and then he will make a decision and propose. I am really excited about watching the show tonight. Chris says he is going to watch it with me. :) I'm sure he'll be glad I told all of you.
I think he will choose Chelsea and I think she will be a better match for him in the long run. I hope whoever he chooses they have a good relationship and stay together. Any other Bachelor fans out there? Make your prediction in the comments. Even if you haven't been watching you would still enjoy the show tonight if you are looking for something to watch. You'll be able to get to know them just in the one show.
Mother's Day
We had a fun Mother's Day! Mckenzee and I slept in while Chris got ready for church because he had to be at Sunday School. When we got up Mckenzee sat on her potty and tee-teed for the very first time! I had a feeling this would be it and we got it on video! It was so cute and she was very proud! Chris had made homemade biscuits before we got up and we had them with my mom's homemade organic strawberry preserves. yum!
When he got home we went to the park. That was what I wanted to do for Mother's Day. We were the only ones there and the weather was so nice. Macy went with us and thoroughly enjoyed herself. Mckenzee loved the slide and she loved running in the grass, but her very favorite part of the playground was the swing. She is not afraid of anything and she liked going fast and high. We had a good time with her and got some good pictures.
After that we went to eat at Quizno's and then came home and Kenzee girl had a nap. I went shopping by myself (that was nice) for a little bit. I had not yet got my mom a present and the clock was ticking. Chris was working diligently on finishing my present.
Before we left to go to my parents Mckenzee gave me a very special book titled "Why I Love my Momma" that her Daddy had made. It had pictures of her and of us together over the last 20 months and there was a cute little story to go along with it. She "signed" it in the back. It was perfect and so special.
We had hamburgers at my parents and played outside and petted the new rabbit and new baby chicks. Later we played games and it was a fun evening. My parents got me a gift card to Hobby Lobby. I think I may go spend it today.
I love being a mom!

Laser Hair Removal

My parents got me Laser Hair Removal for my birthday! (no those are NOT my legs)
That is so the best thing they could have done for me. I have severe issues with my legs and shaving...mainly pain, but also ugliness. Anyway, I won't bore you with all of that.
I am so excited! I went today for my test patch area and I was nervous because on the form you sign you read about how it will hurt and get red and worse, but I felt like the pain from the laser was WAY LESS than the pain of shaving is for me. You have to shave right before you go and my legs felt better after the treatment than when I went in.
I go for my first full treatment on Wednesday and I am so excited. You have to wait about six weeks between treatments and it can take up to a year before you are done I think.
I am looking forward to no more shaving and wearing shorts!

Day at the Zoo
We haven't beent to the zoo in so long and this was Mckenzee's first trip. The coolest thing was this bird exhibit where you buy a stick with bird seed on it and the birds just some right up and eat. Kenzee really liked this. She reached out and touched a bird and did a very good job holding her stick still for them to eat. She also liked the monkeys a lot and talked about them all afternoon. The weather was so nice.
Okay....you probably don't think it's funny anymore
The story goes like this:

I was trying to pack my bag for Lexi's Arbonne party and Mckenzee was trying to drag out everything I was loading up so I gave her the tub of lotion and told her she could put some on if she went in my bathroom and sat down. After I got all my things packed I went in there and she was sitting in the laundry basket all creamed up. So, instead of taking it away then, I got my camera and things only got worse, but I kept taking pictures because it was funny to me. She threw such fit when I took the lotion away, but I got her wiped down and offered her to get in the bath and that made things better. That's why there is the last picture of her laying in the bathtub with her cute little booty.
