Our Walk Today

Mckenzee and I went for a walk this afternoon. I have to admit that I am a little bit frustrated that I cut the tags off of one of her Spring dresses from Aunt Sara and put it on her in FEBRUARY, but I figured we should make the most of this beautiful day. I had fun taking pictures of her and some of the cool sky. Being outside and seeing clouds and plants and things makes me feel closer to God.

Ready for her walk...giraffe, pillow, sippy cup and shades on. These are not our favorite sunglasses. Our favorites our lost...not lost and gone forever, but misplaced. These are our second favorite.

I like this one because you can see how her lips look just like her Daddy's. She had just had a bath.

So serious

This is the face that knows she is doing something she shouldn't, (climbing the wall) but waiting to see how long she can do it before I tell her no.

Our Day at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center

I love going to Fossil Rim. We usually try to go once a year, but it had been about two years since we had been this time. It was Mckenzee's first trip and she had so much fun. She said "giraffe" We were so proud! We bought her a little stuffed giraffe to take home. That's a little bit of a funny story in itself. We picked out two $5 giraffes that we thought were cute and her size and we held them out and said, "Mckenzee which giraffe do you want?" She turned and ran over to a giraffe that was about as tall as she was and standing on it's own and picked it up and hugged it. This scenario happened more than once. Me, being the sucker that I am, would have caved right there and bought it, but Daddy knew better and we got her a little one. It is much more her size and will fit in her toy box. It was also easily hugged in her car seat on the car ride home.
Many of the animals will eat out of your hands if you are brave enough to let them do so. Chris is brave, but I start squealing like a little girl and just want to throw the food. The weather was perfect for driving with your windows down and walking around the children's animal corral. Okay, fun stuff, now on to the pictures and videos. Hope you enjoy.

Home Alone

Why do I have to go and ruin my own fun?

I am home alone this evening. Aaaaahhhh how sweet it is. I am going to check my e-mail and then put on a movie. Chris has taken Mckenzee on a date to Build-a-Bear for her Valentine Puppy and I am staying here. I am so looking forward to my evening alone. I am going to curl up on the couch with a very soft blanket.

I go to set the alarm before I get comfy and the door to the garage is standing open.

Goosebumps.

Deep breath.

There is an explanation for this, just think.

Heart racing.

Calm down.

Okay, we throw Mckenzee's diapers out there and I must not have shut it all the way one time.

I go back to the computer.

I hear footsteps.

It's all in your head. It's all in your head. It's all in your head.

I bravely go check the living room...the kitchen.

I am safe.

I keep hearing things.

Why did this happen on my night off??!!!

Get control of yourself.

Blog about it.

Why Do I Wake Up My Child?

It's something I continue to do knowingly, not wanting to, but still doing all the same. I go in to check on her during her nap. I notice that she has wiggled out from under her blanket. I want to cover her back up. I know if I cover her up she will wake up. I know this because she almost always wakes up when I cover her. I resist the temptation, and I leave, only to come back a few minutes later and give in and cover up my baby so she will be snuggly warm. I leave the room, my job is done, I feel content. As soon as I close the door...Momma!

note: this picture is from when she was so sick and I was putting her clean sheets back on her bed because she had thrown up on them and she just laid down in the floor and went to sleep. Poor baby.
