Why Do I Wake Up My Child?

It's something I continue to do knowingly, not wanting to, but still doing all the same. I go in to check on her during her nap. I notice that she has wiggled out from under her blanket. I want to cover her back up. I know if I cover her up she will wake up. I know this because she almost always wakes up when I cover her. I resist the temptation, and I leave, only to come back a few minutes later and give in and cover up my baby so she will be snuggly warm. I leave the room, my job is done, I feel content. As soon as I close the door...Momma!

note: this picture is from when she was so sick and I was putting her clean sheets back on her bed because she had thrown up on them and she just laid down in the floor and went to sleep. Poor baby.

I USE to do this with Mia. I would wake up 3-4 times a night and check on her to make sure she was not too cold or too hot or not dead. And, yes, this often woke her up. BUT since having Jules, and since figuring out that with two children you have to get up twice as many times, I don't even THINK about going in there unless they are screaming.

You must stop that madness. Stop it now.

Hard to do, but I am sensing you should stop this madness...Connie's advice says it best. She cracks me up!
