Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a lot of fun, but a whirlwind. On Thanksgiving Day we ate at my parents house. This year it was just us. My Uncle and his family were supposed to come too, but my Aunt got sick. We still had fun. The food was SO yummy! Thanks Momma. We had a very relaxing afternoon. We watched football and looked at the Black Friday ads and contemplated shopping the next day. Don't know what we were thinking.

Mckenzee caught her first fish that evening out of my parent's pond with her PawPaw. It was a catfish. She was SO excited when she ran in the house to tell us that she could barely get the words out. "Momma! Daddy! Maimee! I got a fish!" She used her whole little excited self to tell us. We went outside and started firing pictures of them and taking video. At one point she looked at the fish and said, "him so cuuute."

Later that evening Chris and I left the kids there and went home to work on the house for a couple of hours. We were going to be hosting the next day for his family. We got a lot done and went and picked up the kids and got them to bed and took a break to check out some of the deals on the internet. We decided that it would be unrealistic for us to try to shop Black Friday and get ready for family to come over at 11 the next day, but we did make one midnight online purchase for the kids for Christmas.

Riley woke up about 12:30 and I went to feed him and Chris fell asleep on the couch. I ended up falling asleep in the chair with Riley and woke up about 1:45am. That's when things went downhill. I hadn't made the dressing yet so I got started on that and Chris started working on some more house things. About 2:30am I remembered that I was completely out of contact solution and couldn't take out my contacts. So, Chris went to Walmart to get me some. When he got back he said there were already people lined up for the Black Friday deals. We finished the dressed and it was a little after 3am by then so we decided just to go ahead and put the Turkey on so we didn't have to get up in a couple of hours. Chris proceeded to deal with all that inside mess and I prepared the roasting bag and pan. Then, we buttered the thing and stuck it in. At that point our garbage disposal went out. Great. We went to bed and got up the next day and pulled off a good Thanksgiving. Everyone brought such tasty sides and we had a really good time.

On Saturday we had another Thanksgiving to attend at my Aunt and Uncle's house. It was nice and I enjoyed visiting with everyone. My grandmother handed out some large checks and everyone was wowed! I am planning to go on a shopping spree for myself, but I am not being too hasty because if I do I'll head to Target and buy 5 of the same shirt in different colors or stock up on Old Navy activewear, when what I really need is some cute versatile things that I can feel like a hot Momma in. So, I am looking and thinking and going to make some wise purchases.

On Sunday we had our Sunday School class Thanksgiving. So many people came and we had a good time. Four Thanksgivings, four days in a row, was a bit of a beating and we didn't get our tree up and we were bummed about that. We didn't put it up the following weekend because we had Nana's birthday, Mckenzee's bell performance, Chris' company party, and Sara and I went to Riverdance. (All pics to come) So it wasn't until Dec 11th that our beautiful tree made it's appearance, but we are enjoying it now.

Below are some Thanksgiving pictures from Thanksgiving day. I failed to get pictures at any of the other Thanksgivings even though I brought the camera and I didn't get a picture of my hubby. I'm sorry about that babe. I'll post about your backsplash to make up for it!

Thought I commented on this so this is late.

I use to LOVE to go fishing with my dad. We would go as a family too. Always always looked forward to it.

Dang the dressing. That's a lot of Thanksgiving but that's a good excuse to eat good food and I love that picture of Kenzee and your dad with her arms open. So cute.
