Catching Up

Turning 28 and a Special Date

Chris came home early from work and played with the babies so I could get ready. Mckenzee gave me the cutest card that Chris had helped her record her voice in. I loved it and I'll save it forever. My parents came over to keep the kiddos. I had had a long day and it took me three pumping sessions to get enough for one bottle because the little rubber thingys on my pump need to be replaced. On the way to our dinner date Chris gave me a card. It made me cry and inside was my gift....swing dance lessons.....for the two of us. I think I've been dreaming of taking dance lessons with Chris for about 10 years now and we are finally going to do it.

We went to Melting Pot for dinner and it was so nice. He had made reservations and we got the back corner booth. There were roses. It was such a nice dinner. The best part was dessert. We love the Bananas Foster dessert dip. The pictures were taken with Chris' iphone and it was dark, but they turned out okay. The flaming one was when he put the cinnamon in. Yes, cinnamon sparks, I love that!

Mother's Day

I had such a nice Mother's Day. It really started on Thursday when Chris and Kenzee spent a long time on a special project for me. She isn't really old enough to wait on things so she gave it to me as soon as they were done. The time they spent working on it was also a nice gift because I got a break. Then, on Friday, a bouquet of tulips arrived for me from Proflowers, which Chris was not impressed with, but I liked them because he thought of it and planned ahead. On Saturday we cleaned up the house. That was a huge burden lifted off of me and I have been a better mother and wife this week because of it. I just cannot function when my house is a wreck. Riley slept for 13 hours that night. I did have to feed him twice in there, but he never really woke up and I was able to put him right back down. Sunday was perfect. Chris made a big breakfast and gave me a card with a sweet note written inside from him. I then took a 2 1/2 hour morning nap. Wow, I haven't had one of those in a long time. That afternoon we just hung out with our kids and Chris made lunch. My family came over that evening for dinner. It was just a great day.

Swine Flu

I don't know what to do. I think I am starting to realize that I can't continue to quarantine our family. How long could this go on? I want to make good decisions to keep my babies healthy, but I think this may be too much. We haven't been to church, Mckenzee has been missing her music class, we haven't been out to eat. I think we need to continue our measures to stay clean by washing our hands and keeping "hanitizer" available when we are out, but we have to go ahead and live life. I'm gonna work on that. We may start with a trip to Home Depot tomorrow as a family. We need flowers and some house things.

Riley
3 Month Picture at home because I cancelled his appt. because of the Swine Flu.

He is turning out to be a really good sleeper at night. We are still working on naps. This is how he is sleeping right now. I know it isn't safe....I am the queen of safe, but I am right next to him so I'm letting him be. I ordered him a woombie after I order him a miracle blanket and then realized he was past the age limit for it. So, one of you pregnant people that turns out to be having a boy might just get a miracle blanket in your gift. It looks amazing. I wish I had had one when these two were wee bitty. He is a happy little guy most of the time. He smiles and laughs all day. He loves his sister. He can play in the entertainer now, but gets frustrated that he can't put the toys in his mouth.

Mckenzee

I love this picture of her

Potty training, take 14. Chris and I are TERRIBLE potty trainers, but wait you say....what about that cute video you posted back in September when she was doing so great? I know, I know, I thought she was ready. She gave me all the right signs, taking her diaper off, saying she wanted to go tee tee on the potty, being excited about going. Those are some pretty big cues. However, the fun of that wore off after a few weeks and she decided diapers were easier and since Mommy was tired and pregnant and Daddy was happy to make Mommy happy we went back to diapers. This has been a great week though. I bought her new panties and she has been wearing her potty watch. Yesterday she even started to go in her panties and stopped herself and ran to the potty and this morning she woke up dry. I am proud of her. We have had a lot of fun this week playing and doing projects.

Chubs

I'm not sure how long you get to say"I just had a baby." It was so easy with Mckenzee and it has been so NOT easy this time. I have decided to get serious about losing weight. I want to lose at least 20 pounds. 10 pounds of baby weight and 10 pounds that I needed to lose pre-Riley. My 10 year reunion is this year. I want to look and feel good about myself. We already eat pretty healthy, but I need to look at my calorie intake. I have to be careful about dieting because I am breastfeeding. I have started my Core Rhythms videos again. I am going to add in some running. Here we go. It's time.

O.k., "Chubs", I say you can say you just had a baby for at least one year and besides, you look great! Look at yourself in those pics...beautiful.

I am glad you had such a great birthday *no thanks to the lamest friend you will ever have* and mother's day.

Is that one of those little things you paint from Wal-Mart? I have been seeing those and intending on getting some for a rainy day for months! Now that makes me want to go to Walmart right now and get some. I use to do those when i was little and I remember LOVING them. They were bigger then.

Rylie just looks like a little man...so cute. He really is.

I agree with Connie, you look awesome in those pics you posted about your birthday date! (But I still understand not being satisfied with the how you look...I have always felt like that...it is harder when you're short like us)

Thanks for the update!

I am so glad you had such a good birthday and mothers day! And yay for Mckenzee using the potty! Riley is getting so big, and more cute by the day. I need to see you guys!

You are definitely not "chubs" but I can understand feeling insecure about the way you look. You will look great I am sure of it, you can do it!!

Ok I re-read my previous comment and realized it could be taken out of context...I think you look great currently. (I personally thought you looked great when we celebrated my birthday just mere weeks after having Riley) But if you would feel better about yourself if you lost weight then I say go for it. I think you are beautiful already though.

Lexi~I didn't think anything negative at all of your previous comment, but thank you very much.

Thank you to all of you for your sweet comments. I'll feel a lot better when I lose some and even better after that when I get my boobs reduced.

I love the Melting Pot! I'm glad you had a good birthday. Isn't it weird to be closing in on 30?
You look SO awesome already - and I bet Riley will nurse away any extra pounds in no time at all.
I love seeing Mckenzee's little projects. I can't wait until Ainsley is old enough to do things like that :)
