So yesterday Chris took all of us to Trinity Park. We stopped at Chipotle on the way and got our big fat burritos. I love Chipotle! We had a nice lunch under a tree on a quilt. Mckenzee walked Macy and ate a mini-burrito. Riley sat with Daddy and he had to change his diaper twice in 20 minutes, but al was good and the weather was nice.
After we had lunch we packed up our stuff and headed over to the playground. Riley and Macy and I found a spot under a tree right by the playground to watch Chris and Kenzee play. Riley sat with me and I took pictures of Chris and Kenzee playing. Well, I took one and then my sweet little chihuahua started to growl. I looked up to see a pit bull coming our way. I brought her to me via her leash. This other dog was also on a leash so I wasn't overly concerned at this point. It just seemed like two dogs wanting see each other and I ASSUMED the owner of the other dog would have steered his dog away from us. He did not. The pit bull kept coming and broke his leash. I had Macy tucked under my arm and Riley sitting between my legs. I was flat on my butt with my legs in front of me and couldn't really get up, and at that point it was too late anyway. All I could do was shield my baby with my body. Macy does not like big dogs. However, she does not clue in that they can, and will, eat her. She was growling and growling and ready to fight. Riley was crying. Probably from being squished and hearing all the loud dog growling taking place above him. The pit bull was trying to get to her over my arm. I knew if it came to it I would have to give up my dog to protect my baby. All the while, I am thinking why the hell isn't someone trying to help me and why isn't the owner of this dog getting him off of us? I finally called out to Chris just as the owner got him. He started to come over, but also had to be aware of Mckenzee who has no fear and climbs like a 10 year old and was well on her way up these stupid bar things that should never be on playgrounds. The ones that if you fall through you will surely bust your chin open, bite your tongue in half, and knock out all your teeth? Yes, those stupid Mr. Playground Designer!
At this point I am able to get up. Chris takes Riley and I yell and scream at the owner of the dog, who does not high tail it out of there, but instead sits down with his dog, that is no longer leashed, a few feet away, to allow his dog to watch all of the children playing on the playground so he can decide which one to eat!
I called the police. It took no less than 8 tries for my call to go through. No, we do not have the Verizon Network. So finally, I told what happened and gave a description to the dispatcher. An officer finally came. He was an idiot. Nothing happened after that worth telling.
I know that if Macy had not been with me she would have been eaten and there would have been no way for me to save her and I couldn't have tried since I had Riley. I am thankful that this situation was not worse than it was. We are all safe. Thank you God!

Oh my gosh - that is so horrible. I would have called the police, too. I'm so glad you are all ok!
I'm a dog lover but I can't stand that particular breed of dog. I know, I know...people will say it's not the dog but how the owner trains them. Whatever...they are still scary dogs. I am so glad you guys were not hurt. It's bad enough that you had to fear for your life and Riley's and Macy's.
That is crazy!! I would have been in tears. Praise God no one got hurt.
And who takes their pit bull to the park to watch kids play on the playground?! Might as well bring a big-o snake and a bobcat too. Ridiculous.
